Cutting lists giving part size and quantity information can be imported from Excel or CSV files, or cut and pasted/entered manually into SECANT directly. There is no limit on the number of parts which can be planned.

Stock information can either be entered on a job-by-job basis or stored within SECANT for repeated use.

Trims, blade thicknesses, and complexity of patterns can all be controlled within SECANT to manage the important balance between yield and cutting speed which may differ for different materials.

Once a stock item has been chosen to produce a combination of cut pieces there may be several ways in which they can be arranged within the stock. Different layouts may produce different size rest pieces (offcuts) and may result in different amounts of cutting affecting both time and cost. SECANT Plate designs patterns to minimize cutting and maximize reusable material.
