SECANT is designed to help joiners and woodworking companies in their production process by generating low wastage optimised cutting plans for all types of wood and timber materials at the touch of a button, producing customized printed reports giving clear instructions for saw operation.
Cut parts are usually unique in size to a product, and are required in exact quantities. Certain materials may be expensive and unnecessary wastage can mean a substantial reduction in profit margin, whilst in other cases overly complicated cutting patterns could mean that valuable time is wasted during production which would outweigh any cost saving of yield when using a cheaper material. Grain flow must be strictly obeyed when producing certain parts.
Cutting lists giving part size, quantity and grain information can be imported from Excel or CSV files, or cut and pasted/entered manually into SECANT directly. There is no limit on the number of parts which can be planned.
Stock information can either be entered on a job-by-job basis or stored within SECANT for repeated use.
Board trims, blade thicknesses, cutting capacity of the saw and complexity of patterns can all be controlled within SECANT to manage the important balance between yield and cutting speed which may differ for different materials.
SECANT can also help avoid congestion problems in the marshalling area at the back of your saw by controlling the number of different cut parts in production at any time.
