SECANT is a state-of-the-art cutting optimiser which has been established for over 30 years. It can be seamlessly integrated into your software package to allow the production of high yield cutting patterns to minimise waste, improve efficiency and save planning time.
When generating an optimised cutting solution as well as minimizing waste SECANT can consider; speed of production, offcut usage and generation, overproduction for stock where appropriate, work in progress and production sequence when combining orders.
SECANT can be integrated in several ways. All methods of integration use the same format single flat text file for communication between the systems:
Invoking: The highest level of integration is achieved through a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) which can be invoked directly from third party software. During optimisation progress information can be passed back to the calling application, and requests to speed up or cancel the optimisation can be made.
Executing: Optimised cutting patterns can also be produced through calling a Windows executable.
Service mode: When running as a Windows Service SECANT will scan directories for cutting tasks created by other systems. Once detected these tasks are optimised, appropriate reports and cutting diagrams can be printed, and users can be emailed directly with results.
