SECANT will make exactly the quantities listed in your cutting list unless it is told it can overproduce on requirement. As well as a quantity for a cut part, you can specify a value in the Overmake field. This is an amount of this part which MAY be produced but does not have to be. You can also specify a completely optional part by leaving the Quantity field blank and just specifying an Overmake.
If you are seeing Offcuts produced in your pattern rather than SECANT making parts for stock this may be because the setting Percentage value of offcut produced in your controls may be too high. You can either reduce this or if you do not want offcuts to be produced at all remove the values in the fields Minimum offcut length and width.
To change the default settings you should click on the 3-bar menu at the top of the main SECANT window and select the menu option System/Controls/Open. Double click on the control set you want to change (e.g. Default.CTL) to display the control dialog and edit the values in the Pattern Restrictions section. Any changes made will apply to any NEW jobs created with this control set, existing jobs which used this control set will be unaffected.
To only change the settings for your current job, from the job dialog display the control information by either clicking on the Controls toolbar button, or select View/Cutting Controls from the 3-bar menu on the job dialog.
