When SECANT generates its cutting patterns the cutting list is sorted by material and cross referenced with the stocks of raw materials that are available so that each part is planned into a compatible stock product. This is managed using the Material field in the Cutting List and Stock File.
If the Material field is left blank in both the cutting list and stock file then SECANT can freely mix any cut part with any other cut part and this can be planned into any stock item. NB: if the job contains only a single Material this field should be left blank in BOTH the cutting list and stock file.
If the Material field is used then only parts which have an identical material field may be cut planned together in the same pattern. Note: the material field is case sensitive. These cut parts may then only be planned into raw materials from the stock file which have a matching Material field. Each material is then displayed and reported on separately.
